Refix Maintenance Ltd, has been awarded the SAFEcontractor accreditation for the forth year running, demonstrating its continued commitment to health and safety.
The SAFEcontractor programme recognises very high standards of health and safety practise amongst UK contractors and is designed to help industry improve its safety record.
Established in 1988, Refix is an independent property maintenance company providing comprehensive building maintenance services to the retail, commercial and industrial sectors in central southern England. Through a fundamental commitment to providing an outstanding service, Refix has built a loyal customer base with clients including Argos, Wm Morrisons, Iceland and Focus to name a few.
“Refix takes health and safety very seriously and is committed to the safety and well being of both its staff and clients” says Chris Mansfield, Managing Director at Refix.
SAFEcontractor is operated by international safety, health and environmental risk management specialists, the National Britannia Group. The system is applicable to most sectors although it is particularly relevant to food manufacture, retail and leisure sectors, all of which are big users of contract services.
Darren Hughes, Operations Director for SAFEcontractor at National Britannia said ‘Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sounds health and safety policies.’
More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Refix Maintenance Ltd has done. The firms’ high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.
